Travelling is the best test of personality

Ever heard of the method of testing someone's personality by travelling together? It's possibly one of the toughests 'tests' for friends and couples alike and gladly, we've passed with flying colours! (ok, we cheated, we met while travelling...)
However, it is certainly important to choose the right person to travel with. I myself know that there are certain friends, really really good friends that I would never travel with because I know that too well. I know for sure that there will be issues when it comes to decisions and things to do.
I remember one night in Florence, before I was just falling asleep that I heard the couple at the next tents to us. They were fighting. VERY LOUDLY. It wasn't anything major. It's not like one of them cheated on the other but the seriousness of their voices show that they were on the edge of splitting up. All this for a souvenir the guy bought which the girl didnt think was worth it and she was angry that he didn't 'consult' with her.
I don't think compatibility is the only thing to look out for here, it's also the ability to work together. Also another reason why I'll never work at the same place as that friend of mine. There are also elements of trust and independence in the mix, and the acknowledgement that being travel companions doesn't mean you have to do absolutely everything together.
Have you had any horror stories of travelling with someone? Do you have a tip for everyone else who will be travelling together? Share it here
