"I don't like it" is how Pauline Hanson would've put it.
Well, for once, I agree with her.
The new Tourism Australia ad has been unveiled, and what a disappointment it is.
Watch it here -> Stone the crows, are they fair dinkum about this flamin' ad? (SMH.com.au)
"Tone deaf bogans stuck in the 70's" is what the critics are calling it. To me, it lacks imagination, and lacks character. And as many people have already noticed - we don't drive left-hand driven vehicles (you'll notice it in one of the shots)
There is no improvement from Where the Bloody Hell are Ya? campaign. Why do we waste our money so??
The Where the Bloody Hell are Ya? ad:
But that's just my opinion. What do you think?
The official -> There's Nothing Like Australia website.
And just for laughs, the un-official -> There is Nothing Like Australia website

But as one of the commenters in the smh article said, a lot of people overseas will love it and ultimately that's the point of the ad.
Personally I quite liked the "Where the bloody hell are you?" campaign but it tanked when it came to sales time. I guess they wanted to go with something a little tamer, and a lot more stereotypically Australian, this time around.

True, that those from overseas may see it differently and might like it. We'll have to wait for the sales results to come out!
