Would you share YOUR secret?

You know how you flip through travel magazines or brochures and the cheesy words of "This is the world's best kept secret..."?
And then you wonder, if it's the best kept secret, then why let it out?
Sometimes travel writers come to a dilemma. There is this fabulous place that has little tourist and you get the whole place to yourself. It's beautiful, unpolluted and dirt cheap.
And that's why we fall in love with places as such, because they are unique. Almost always we'll have the urge to tell someone about it, but once we tell one person, they'll tell another and eventually the place become another one of those places stormed with tourists and it won't be beautiful anymore.......
So the question is.... Would you tell anyone about it? Travel writers will be itching to write about it, as it'll be a place no one has written about and the editors will love it.... but from a personal point of view.. once it's been published, people WILL know about it, and people will come. And we all know the effect of mass tourism on beautiful places. They get ruined.
But how selfish would you feel if you don't share these fantastic destinations?
If you ever come across a great place that not many people know about - would you tell?
