Oprah is coming: What do you think?

Old news now actually. Oprah is bringing 300 of her audience to come with her to Australia.
Or should I say: Tourism Australia and the NSW government is bringing Oprah and her 300 audience members on a free trip to Australia in an attempt to boost Australia's status in internaional tourism.
I don't blame them. They (Tourism Australia) need this boost. With two failed attempted in luring international travellers to visit us (think 'Where the Bloody Hell Are you' and 'Nothing Like Australia'), Oprah, being one of the most influential person in the world, is possibly the ultimate they can get.
Three million it's going to cost. I think it's a reasonable cost considering that Tourism Australia spent similar amounts of money on previous campaigns that didn't work, and this one is essentially investing on 300 walking billboards that will advertise us through word of mouth for the rest of these audience's attention spans.
They'd better be bloody impressed.
I do have a problem with NSW government forking out half of that money. It's not like they are only visiting NSW. According to Oprah, they'll be sailing Sydney Harbour, sampling great Aussie wine, shop in Melbourne and visit the Great Barrier Reef.
That already involves three states. Why isn't Victoria and Queensland also offering a bit of cash?
Another thing I have a problem with is the plan evolves around the coastal areas/urban areas of Australia. What happened to advertising the real beautiful country/outback Australia? What about our history and culture?
I guess they are leaving them room to come back for more. Hopefully.

Katyzzz - it's true. The government shouldn't have got involved. It's a Tourism Australia thing, not Tourism NSW. It's not like we have a lot of money to spare....
Thanks for visiting!!
