The real price comes out

We have been briefed about this only earlier this week, working in a travel agency and all, that airlines now have to include all their pricing, including 'taxes and surcharges' in their advertising to protect consumers' mis-understandings.
This, in a way, is a relief for travel agents - no more, will people come in here insisting that they were going to get $1 flights from Tiger Airways, unsuspectingly believe the total cost really is... $1. (And abuse us for it too!) A lot of people often forget that travel agents are 'agents' of airlines, who do not actually work, or own the airlines....

I think they really should apply this to everything actually - as the report suggest, that the car hire companies also should be made to advertise the extras (such as one way fees etc) and cruise companies to advertise the tipping costs that comes with the cruise, just as the adventure tour companies have always put on their tour prices what the local payment costs.
Unfortunately I still can't see this working too exactly well. Firstly, if they had to advertise the taxes, then they'd have to loosen up on the exact amount as taxes literally can change everyday! Not that it changes most of the time, but every wednesday is when the currency converter in the global airfare system updated, and from time to time, they do differ, especially if something like what happened last year, when the Aussie dollar dropped 30% over night, it can really mean that whatever that has been advertised can increase or decrease by as much as $100 the next day.
I personally think that they should have the words 'FROM' and 'UNTIL SOLD OUT' a little larger for everyone to see. This at least makes it easier to understand why certain airfares cannot be sold if someone have to travel tomorrow.
What do you think?
