~Mount Fuji~

As you can see, Mount Fuji is my target for today’s posting in my blog. Why? I'm not sure why but i just got reminded of one of my favourite cartoon characters: Doraemon! Don’t ask me why but that somehow lead me to the picture of Mount Fuji swimming in my mind.
Well, to those who have never come across any shots of Mount Fuji, check below:-
Mount Fuji, also known as ‘Fujisan stands tall and proud with its 3776 meters’ (www.japan-guide.com) measurement which then makes it Japan's highest mountain. Just like its country of origin that seems to float in the deep blue sea with no connection to the mainland, Mount Fuji is also unique and special in its own ways. It owns and displays somewhat its natural beauty where only its tip/peak is covered with snow…thick coat of snow! You can’t simple use words to describe the differing magnificent view of Mount Fuji that is capture during every season. I guess this explains the increase of usage of Mount Fuji in Japanese art, or even culturally.
Here are some of the shots taken from the net:-
For example, Japan’s two major religions, ‘Shinto and Buddhism, regard Fuji as sacred which might explain why the name “Fuji” (most likely) came from an indigenous Ainu word meaning “deity of fire”’ (www.sacredland.org). I personally think that Mount Fuji permeates good vibes to the world. You may think that I am over-exaggerating but I have to tell you that the minute I lay my eyes on the shots of Mount Fuji, I sense this calm, relaxes aura that fills inside of me. It somehow makes me happy; makes me smile. I guess I just feel connected with nature and its purity =)
However, despise all that excitement gathered around one of the most beautiful mounts in Asia, it is inevitable for visitors to question the mount’s “activities” which leads to the question of volcano eruption. According to www.sacredland.org, ‘Mount Fuji’s last eruption, in 1707, lasted 16 days and produced a 6-mile-wide cloud of smoke and ash that blocked out the sun in some areas’. And say supposedly if it were to erupt (which is still a question mark), it is going to definitely cause lots and lots of harm and damage, both to the environment as well as to the people living nearby.
But then again, if volcano eruption were to be made a huge fuss, then there would not be as much visitors as now who travel all the way from as far as United States or Africa or Europe to have a holiday in Japan, just to have a sneak peak at the ever famous Mount Fuji. I personally think that if it is meant to erupt, then it will. Scientists might only predict what can or may happen in the future but they don’t have the power to control these unwanted incidents.
Let’s take our mind off the possibilities for now and enjoy what we could since it is made available to us. Mount Fuji has its speciality just like any other locations that I write about. One of it is mount climbing. That seems to be like the most straightforward guesses one can make/think/come up with…correct me if I am wrong there!(*wink*)
But anyways, I was checking out ‘www.japan-guide.com’, and to those who are interested in climbing Japan’s precious treasure can then take a closer look at the basic information provided on the official climbing season on when to climb and stuffs like that.
Well, bedsides that, Mount Fuji comes attached with the famous five lakes like ‘Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko), the most easily accessible of the five lakes. The other four lakes are named Yamanaka, Sai, Shoji and Motosu. The latter three are less developed than Lake Kawaguchi, but more difficult to access’ (www.japan-guide.com,).
But no matter what said and done, I personally think the gorgeous view of Mount Fuji beats it all!
