Flying with a feast

We flew Air New Zealand over to Auckland on the Easter Weekend, and I noticed there was something different: I enjoyed the flight.
I am generally a nervous flyer. No matter how much I've flown in the past, (when we lived in Coffs Harbour, I literally flew myself to a Qantas silver frequent flyer membership just flying between Coffs and Sydney about 40 times!), and no matter how much I do love travelling, flying has always been a fear for me.
It wasn't until this trip to New Zealand did I realised possibly why.
1. Obviously, the turbulance and a fear of landing doesn't help a nervous flyer...
2. in the past there was nothing to do on the plane, the shared screens were too hard to watch, and sometimes even the seat back screens are too small you can't see it that well: this equates to lack of distraction from point 1...
3. The food generally gives me a stomach ache. I don't think the food was poisoned or anything, but they weren't tasty for sure, and with an already queasy stomach it just makes it worse..
How did I realise all these (as obvious as they may seem)? Well, the screens at the back of the Air New Zealand flight the screens were new, slightly larger and clear. I could watch anything I wanted and I didn't have to guess the conversations.
MOST importantly though - the food. Wow. I never thought I would say this, but that fish was gooooood.
Yep. We had battered fish for lunch on the way back. When I heard them announce it I had a horrible feeling about it - battered fish? Reheated? It's going to smell, and it's going to be soggy.
When I took my first bite into it, I just kept going. How can they make it so right? It was rightly battered, crunchy as if just out of the frier and it taste good.
Wow.
So technology must be doing something good for us passengers on an airplane.
Then I read this article today and confirmed my findings. Airlines are definitely trying to vamp up their menus - and not just for the premium flyers.

What do you think? Perhaps one day we can have fresh seafood on the planes and not get sick?
